Widebay Warbirds operates out of Bundaberg Regional Airport providing Adventure Flights to passengers in a genuine foreign military warbird. The Yak 52 was used by the Russians to train their military pilots.
Pete Marris is a former RAAF helicopter pilot, fixed wing pilot and flying instructor with almost 10,000 hours of flight experience. He holds a current CASA Grade 1 Multi Engine instructor rating, and holds privileges for teaching spinning, aerobatics, and formation and has a low level aerobatics approval down to 500 feet above ground level. Pete currently works full time for Lifeflight as a rescue helicopter pilot at Bundaberg, flying Bell 412 and Leonardo AW139 helicopters.
In his spare time, he conducts some General Aviation instruction, and likes to fly the Yak around the Bundaberg region.
Pete previously operated this Yak 52 conducting Adventure Flights at Bundaberg in 2010 -2011 under the banner of Xtreme Aviation.
